Our first church was built in1871. The history of Methodism on the Menominee River dates back to 1856 when Pastor J.W. Donaldson came as a missionary.

The Reverend Kevin Dembinski is the new pastor of the Marinette, Peshtigo and Harmony United Methodist Churches. Pastor Dembinski is 29, with a family that includes one dog, (Cleopatra), two cats (Sugar and Susanna) and a five inch gecko (Charles), who lives in an aquarium in the pastor's office. Rev. Dembinski has been an active pastor for the past six years. He began serving a small rural church of six people every Sunday, while working on his Masters of Divinity degree from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Ill. in 2009. From there, he began to serve the Algoma/West Kewaunee United Methodist Church until his move to Marinette This will be a new experience for the three congregations, and for Reverend Dembinski as well. He admits to a few fears, a little doubt, but also a sense of excitement. He believes in living the message of Jesus Christ Monday through Sunday, and in a unified sense of team work which, as he realizes, will be necessary in this multi-congregational endeavor. The Pastor believes himself to be a minister that brings humor to the church life and that the church should be a safe, fun place rather than a place of creeds and rules where some feel uncomfortable. Currently his office hours are Monday and Wednesday in the Marinette Church; Tuesday and Thursday in the Peshtigo-Harmony Church and Friday his day off. The weekend will see church services at the following locations: Saturday - 4:30 pm at the First United Methodist Church, Marinette. 715-735-6323, 813 Owena Street Sunday - 8:00 am at the Peshtigo United Methodist Church 715-582-4383, 501 French Street Sunday - 9:15 am at the Harmony United Methodist Church 715-789-3113, N3949 County Road D Sunday - 10:30 am at the First United Methodist Church of Marinette. All are welcome at these services. Come and join us to hear the word of the Lord.
